Dishwasher Panel Gone Silent? Work Through This Before Booking Service

A completely dark dishwasher control panel can be caused by power, door state, control lock or a genuine electronic fault. Work from the outside in.

Check the home breaker and any GFCI or switched outlet that may supply the dishwasher. If a breaker has tripped, reset it once. If it trips again, leave the appliance off and schedule service rather than repeating the reset.

Make sure the door is fully closed and nothing in the rack is preventing the latch from engaging. Some dishwashers keep the controls dark or unresponsive when the latch state is not recognized.

Check for control lock, sleep behavior or a delayed-start setting in the manual. If the model has a documented reset sequence, try it once. Do not remove the kick plate or open the electrical junction area as a homeowner troubleshooting step.

If external power is present and the panel remains dead, the problem may involve the door latch, internal power connection, control board or another component that requires safe electrical testing.

### Tell the technician
Report whether the panel is completely dark or only the Start button is unresponsive, whether the breaker/GFCI is stable and whether the failure began during a cycle or after the dishwasher had been idle.
